Become a Camp Ambassador
You love camp. You believe in what camp does. Now you can help bring that ministry to more people in your congregation.
Camp Ambassadors are trusted adults who serve as a connection between camp and their local congregation. They help keep camp opportunities in front of families throughout the year, encourage people to attend and serve, answer basic questions, and help us understand what congregations need.
You don't have to do everything. You don't have to be a salesperson. And you certainly don't have to be a fundraiser.
You simply need to love camp, love your congregation, and want to help connect people with an opportunity that can make a difference in their lives.
-
We can only be in one place at a time.
That's where you come in.
Our Camp Ambassadors are people who:
Truly love and believe in the ministry of camp.
Are looking for a meaningful way to serve.
Can help bring camp opportunities into places we can't always reach.
Know the families, parents, youth, and leaders in their congregation.
Can be our eyes and ears—sharing what's working, what questions people are asking, and where there are opportunities to improve.
Help keep camp in front of their congregation throughout the year.
You aren't just a name on a list. You're a ministry partner.
-
Your role centers around three key areas:
1. Marketing
Help get camp information into people's hands.
You might:
Keep camp brochures available at your church.
Share camp information with parents and campers.
Help answer basic questions about camp.
Share camp articles in your church newsletter or e-blast.
Help maintain a camp display or bulletin board.
Share camp slides during worship or church announcements.
Help people know where to find more information.
2. Staffing
Help us find people who can serve at camp.
You might:
Identify people in your congregation who would be a great fit for camp ministry.
Encourage church members to apply for summer staff, counseling, volunteer, or other camp positions.
Share staffing opportunities and deadlines.
Personally invite people whose gifts and abilities would fit camp.
Answer basic questions about what it's like to serve at camp.
Help recruit church groups to serve together.
3. Promotion
Help turn awareness into participation.
You might:
Personally invite families and youth to attend camp.
Share registration information and deadlines.
Promote camp during appropriate church announcements.
Put camp information into youth group, Sunday school, and family communications.
Encourage parents to register early.
Share camp photos, stories, and testimonies.
Help create excitement about upcoming events.
Follow up with families who have attended before and invite them back.
Encourage campers to bring friends.
Help pastors and youth leaders understand which camp opportunities are a good fit for their congregation.
-
One of the best things about having Camp Ambassadors is that you see things we don't.
You know your congregation. You know what gets people's attention. You hear the questions parents are asking. You may see opportunities we haven't considered.
Ambassadors can help us develop new ideas, programs, resources, and systems.
Your ideas could become the next great idea for camp.
-
We don't want to simply ask you to promote camp and then send you on your way.
We want to equip you to succeed.

Camp Ambassadors should be:
Adults or couples who are connected to their congregation.
People who genuinely support the mission and ministry of camp.
Comfortable talking with parents, youth, and church leaders.
Willing to actively promote camp throughout the year.
Trusted and known by their congregation.
Excited to connect people with camp opportunities.
We also ask that ambassadors have permission from their congregation to serve in this role and represent the congregation in their relationship with camp.
This isn't about having a title.
It's about having a relationship, a heart for ministry, and a willingness to serve.
Ready to Get Involved?
If you love camp and want to help more people in your congregation experience it, we'd love to talk with you.
Become a Camp Ambassador and help bring camp closer to home.
